John Michell
Born and bred in Ashfield, John started bicycle racing at the age of 15 and had ambitions of riding the Tour de France.
Realising a need for a bicycle store in the area, John established Ashfield Cycles in May, 1978 and has been going strong
ever since. Over the years John and Ashfield Cycles have been involved in club racing sponsorship with Lidcombe Auburn Cycling
Club and Waratah Veterans amongst others. John has also sponsored BMX, pro road and track cyclists and triathlete’s. He has
also sponsored non cycling sports like netball, soccer and indoor cricket to name a few and has been heavily involved in
numerous local community initiatives over the years.
These days John divides his time between running a busy successful bike shop with family, community commitments and
the occasional race with his LACC club.

Kane McLachlan
Kane has worked with Ashfield Cycles for 13 years. With 17 years experience racing road and track at state level, Kane comes highly
qualified to service your every cycling need. Kane has also been studying the last couple of years and is attending Penrith Tafe
in a personal training course.
Ben Isaksen
Coming from a race cycling family, Ben has many years of racing experience and in-depth technical knowledge.
For the past five years, Ben has been racing in France with the Velo Sport Quimper Team and the
Hennebont Teams. He will be back there next year hopefully with a bag full of wins. He also picked up the Dooleys
Sportsperson of the year award in 2008.

Richard Lang
Richard has been with us for 4 years and in that time he has had several big wins including Ride for Life,
stage wins in the Tour of the Murray. Gippsland Tour, Perth Tour and The Geelong Tour. As well as Winning
a NSW state critium title and a National Omnium Track Title, as well as winning the Goulburn to Citi Classic
this year and the Scody Cup - the list goes on. He has now been picked up by Budget Fork Lifts as a sponsored
rider and will been moving to the AIS after Christmas.
Elliott Holdstock
Elliott has been with us for 2 years on a casual basis - helping out in sales and in the workshop. He has a passion for single speeds,
fixies and surfing.
Jordan Potts
The newest member of the team, at age 20 has been riding for a few years and is keen to get back to road racing. Helping out in sales and
servicing and is handy with computer skills.
