About Ashfield Cycles

Established 35 years ago in 1978 by current owner John Michell.

John grew up in the local area and was interested in bicycles for as long as he can remember. He started racing at the age of 14 with the local Dulwich Hill Cycling club. Currently an active member and sponsor of the Lidcome Auburn Cycling Club.

After completing a printing apprentiship he later went on to manage his brother’s service station. It was while he was at the Service station that he decided that all he really wanted to do was manage his own bicycle retail outlet. He started trading originally through the service station then rented a shop premises on Parramatta Road at Ashfield where he traded for 8 years before moving to the current location where he has been trading for the last 27 years. Just prior to Christmas a major renovation of the premises was commenced which was finished early this year. We now have a new modern showroom with a fully equiped workshop and Body Geometry fit area. We cater for all ages and types of cyclist from novice to elite.
